Welcome to America’s GreenZone, the first initiative of Deploy America, Inc. Deploy America is a Prayer for Peace Within and Without. Deploy America calls upon all Americans to serve those who have so selflessly served. We are calling for all Americans to wrap our military men, women and their families in a blanket of gratitude and respect as they slowly transition back into daily living from the challenges of combat and operational stress.

Our warriors return home to an inner battlefield for which they have no training. They can feel incomprehensibly alone, even in the company of their own loved ones. Despite all of their training and courage, these men and women are not prepared with the weapons necessary to fight the raging battles within. Their horrific experiences can play like unbidden movies in their heads.

This Unseen Enemy within them is not identifiable. It is neither Eastern nor Western, not dark-skinned or light.This Unseen Enemy dresses up cunningly in depression, rage, violence, isolation, hopelessness, avoidance of physical and/or sexual intimacy, social phobias, alcoholism, addictions and a multitude of other foreign experiences of self. All of these guises serve to mask and “medicate” unbearable and confounding inner turmoil.

This Unseen Enemy seeks to annihilate their humanity and forbids human connection. America’s GreenZone offers safe places to heal where, for those sacred moments, concepts such as stigma, weakness and chain of command are left outside the door. It is the privilege and responsibility of America’s GreenZone volunteer support network to assure our warriors and their loved ones that they are having normal reactions to the abnormal circumstances of war.
